| Project Recovery involves finding the root cause of the project failure and correcting it. The reason for many failed projects can be tracked to a single problem and while many other problems surface along with the way to the failure becoming visible, most of the time there is a single "original" problem that needs to be dealt with. The tough part is working back through the problems to find the original problem and it's source, correcting the original problem, and then dealing with the other problems that resulted from the original problem. We can help determine the root cause of a failed project and then help address the problem. In most cases, expectations, plans, resources, funding, or scope need to reviewed and adjusted to put the project back in motion or back on track. We feel that a key part of Project Recovery is also identifying other risks that haven't been accounted for and performing a comprehensive risk analysis. Without adequate risk analysis, another problem is just waiting to occur that will cause the project to fail again. To be expected, when a project starts to fail, lots of attention is focused on the project. Communications is the key to help everyone understand the current state of the project and what is being done to remedy the problems. We can help establish the additional communication vehicles and work with you to resume normal communications as the project recovers. At Andrews Consulting, we will help you determine the cause of the project failure and show you the steps to implement to recover the project. |
